Recycling and Processing Technology of the Lithium Battery

Ⅰ. Introduction to the lithium battery:

Lithium battery refers to a battery containing lithium (including metal lithium, lithium alloy and lithium-ion, lithium polymer) in the electrochemical system. Lithium batteries can be roughly divided into two categories: lithium metal batteries and lithium-ion batteries.

Ⅱ. The structure of the lithium battery:

The structure of lithium primary battery usually has two shapes, cylindrical and square. The interior of the battery adopts a spiral structure, which is separated between the positive and negative electrodes with a very fine and highly permeable polyethylene film separator material. The positive electrode includes a current collector composed of lithium cobalt oxide and aluminum foil. The negative electrode consists of a current collector composed of graphitized carbon material and copper foil. The battery is filled with an organic electrolyte solution.

Ⅲ. Technical analysis of lithium battery recycling and processing:

1. Pretreatment of waste lithium batteries, including discharge, dismantling, crushing and sorting; recycling of dismantled plastic and iron casings;

2. The waste lithium battery recycling and processing equipment technology mainly uses mechanical crushing,

3. Simple dry methods such as vacuum separation, vibration screening, specific gravity separation, and airflow separation can realize the separation and collection of electrode materials, current collector metals, plastic diaphragms, and battery shells in waste lithium batteries;

4. The separation and collection process does not introduce any chemical reagents, and the whole process is fully automated. At the same time, the electrolyte and dust are collected and processed, which has the characteristics of high recycling efficiency, green and low carbon, environmental protection and energy saving, and easy industrialization.

How to achieve harmlessness, reduction and resource utilization of waste lithium batteries is a top priority. Recycling lithium batteries for treatment and reuse can make full use of waste.
